What is a well-child visit? 

Your baby will have a series of visits to the doctor during her first year – even when perfectly healthy. These are called well child visits. These checkups are a great chance to get updates on your baby’s health and development and to ask her provider any questions or concerns you have. 

Your baby’s provider will ask about what your baby is eating, and what kinds of things they are able to do; you can also ask questions about common concerns such as eating, sleeping, vaccinations (shots), development, and social behaviors. At well child visits, your baby’s weight and height will be measured and any needed shots will be given. Bring a list of questions to your baby’s visits, so you don’t forget to ask them.
