Vaccines: PCV
Vaccines help prevent pneumococcal disease, (pronounced noo-muh-KOK-uhl), which is any type of illness caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria.
There are two kinds of pneumococcal vaccines available in the United States depending on the age your child is when the vaccine is given. Talk with your or your child’s provider if you have questions about pneumococcal vaccines.
Visit the CDC for more information about PCV vaccines.
